2016

Wild Survivors was launched by Francesca Mahoney in 2016, in response to the catastrophic elephant poaching epidemic and a rising conflict costing the lives of both elephants and people. We focus on ‘conflict hotspots’ where wild habitat meets village land, to work directly with rural communities on methods to prevent clashes with elephants, while uplifting farming livelihoods and inspiring people to protect wildlife and habitat.

Mission

The logo design for Wild Survivors aims to capture the organization's mission of protecting elephants and rural communities by preventing human-wildlife conflict. Wild Survivors works directly with communities in conflict hotspots to foster coexistence between humans and elephants.

The logo should embody the essence of conservation, community, and the symbiotic relationship between wildlife and local people. It will serve as a visual representation of the organization's efforts to inspire action, raise awareness, and contribute to the survival of elephants while supporting rural livelihoods.

Challenge

The primary challenge is to create a logo that resonates emotionally with a wide audience, from rural communities in conflict areas to global conservation supporters. The design must effectively communicate the urgency of protecting elephants and wildlife, while also highlighting the positive impact of community collaboration.

The main consideration was to design a logo using typography to create a symbol which can be widely recognized and easily identifiable.
